Monster is not the only job site having invested in PR and advertising:

  • careerbuilder will be launching, on Super Bowl Sunday 2008, their 250 $ ad campaign.

The 30-second spots, featuring an overbearing boss, spider attacks and other elements, are edgy ads targeted to people who are frustrated by their current jobs and need a change, says Richard Castellini, vice president of consumer marketing at CareerBuilder.com.

Thus, same intentions as Monster but with less “shiny, happy people” as they say. I will post videos as soon as they are available. More infos directly from careerbuilder.

  • The US-based TheLadders, “a fee-based jobs site aimed at putting high earners in high-paying jobs” start advertising on TV, in print and online.

The tone of its spots, Chief Marketing Officer Robert Turtledove said, is markedly different from those used by CareerBuilder and Monster, which have tended to focus on job seekers’ unhappiness at their current workplaces.

  • The British Totaljobs’ radio ads have started at the beginning of January to be on air during four consecutive months. (Source: Onrec)

Who else is advertising? What about Yahoo! and StepStone?
