I found this very interesting post on HRlog.nl this morning. Michel Rijnders lists the Top 40 Dutch job boards for the first 2008 term. He looks exclusively at the Alexa rankings, which means, in terms of number of visits on the respective sites during the test period. As I stated in his article’s comments, I am quite suspicious about Alexa since they favour American sites mainly. However, Michel’s results reflect most of our own statistical findings on individal job posting traffic numbers. So the data appear reliable. The figures in brackets represent last time’s positions:
- (1) monsterboard.nl (the international number one)
- (2) nationalevacaturebank.nl (the local number one; VNU Publications)
- (3) intermediair.nl (VNU Publication involved as well)
- (4) totaljobs.nl (a really good site; Reed business involved; however, the structure of the site confuses me every time/ Must be a cultural marketing thing…)
- (9) jobbingmall.nl (heydiho, careerbuilder is doing well here. Jobbingmall is their Dutch branch)
- (6) randstad.nl (hm, pretty good for an temporary recruitment agency)
- (28) volkskrantbanen.nl
- (10) werk.nl
- (7) jobtrack.nl (that’s even a too good position given the fact that their candidate response results were rather lousy the few times we have worked with that site)
- (5) vacaturekrant.nl (they still have their horrible blue portal. It has been like that for at least two years. How about a change?)
For the remaining 30 sites, please visit HRlog. I’m a bit astonished to see that StepStone is not in the Top Ten this time. They usually deliver good results (at least much better than jobtrack or vacaturekrant…)
Of course, I have also listed them and other sites in the respective job board link section.
And some last minute good reads to follow up during the next few weeks:
- The BORN-Blog Job Board Widget investigation. I’m curious to see what Julian will find out.
- Why the Buddha doesn’t give Referral fees. I’m still trying to figure out whether or not this post is supposed to a an April’s fool…
