In an earlier post, when I talked about the new French platform youjob.com, I was asked by one of my blog readers why I was ranting about the site and I gave my reasons, not only on why I thought that the site was not useful but also on why I thought that video resumes were not necessarily a good idea in the recruiting process (if you’re familiar with the German language, please read the comments in the youjob-post). I recently found an excellent article written by Julian Stopps, the presenter of the born-podcast, in which he discusses the “Productivity Problem” of the video CV. Please check out the comments there, as well. I am happy to see that we both share practically the same opinion on the subject.
Apart from that, on the same blog, I suggest you to read yet another article by Julian, in which he talks about Facebook and the job boards that have developed applications in order to drive more traffic (and candidates) to their sites. Very interesting figures and conclusions: Is Facebook worth it for job boards?
Enjoy the posts.
