And yet another post. I am making up for this week’s lack of articles. Sorry, I have been paralysed by the flu.
Jobsite have launched an interactive web site for candidates: BeMyInterviewer.co.uk (Source: very interesting article on Onrec).
According to a recent study of 5,000 adults by Jobsite, 1.) candidates’ inability to sell themselves in interviews means that they are losing more than £2.3 billion a year in missed pay increases. 2.) Similarly, recruiters are losing thousands of man hours on candidates unlikely to secure a placement unless they spend considerably more time practising for interviews and improving their interview technique.
The research reveals one in three jobseekers failed to receive a single job offer in the past year – 10 per cent of the UK population. 3.) Poor interview technique was the single biggest reason for failure (11 per cent), with falling victim to nerves (11 per cent) or being out of interview practise (nine per cent) other major factors.
I have looked at the site and I find it really helpful. Well done! However, I would have preferred to have one single video containing all the questions at once. There is no point in watching fifteen different 10-second-spots one after the other. Especially when the questions are written below the video.
Apart from that, I would have appreciated to gain more insight into the recruiter’s techniques and to obtain more useful tips on how to actually answer their questions. Maybe this is going to be developed in the future?
