The UK-based jobsite.co.uk joins the Web2.0 dance around the Facebook users (and hence, potential candidates). After jobster’s “Employer Talent Network” application launch, jobsite have started their tool “Job Match“. Since I’m quite curious, I had a look at this application that, according to their press release knows how to do the following:

Job Match’ picks out career and location information from a potential job seeker’s Facebook profile page and auto-inserts it into the job search, instantly bringing up potential positions that match the users job title and location, as well as allowing job seekers to edit their search profile.

Unfortunately, their matching tool does not seem to be technically mature. The only (two!) job offers that are displayed for my profile (International E-Recruiting Sales Manager in Lyon) do not have the least to do with my qualification: I’m presented positions as “Customer Data Manager” and “Data Manager” both in Lyon, though. Obviously, the vacancies are from the same employer. Well, that’s a nice one. You can be sure that I will not rely on this tool for my next search… Ok, I’m in France, but jobsite has an international co-operation with cadremploi.fr and others. Hm, where is the international approach in all this?

Anyway, I had another look at the jobster Talent Tool and I found out that they were unable to find any jobs at all for my profile. They gave me the following lines instead:

Sorry, we don’t have enough information to find jobs for you. Please add locations to the ‘Basic’ or ‘Contact’ sections of your Facebook profile so we can suggest job searches for you.

I immediately checked my profile but I found out that I had indicated quite a few locations AND my full job title (which, by the way, drips with relevant keywords).

What did I do wrong? Or are their applications not working? That’s rather disappointing.
